Teletalk and Summit Towers pen tower-sharing deal

Summit Towers has signed an agreement with Teletalk Bangladesh to share towers under government guidelines.

The former's managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) Md Arif Al Islam and Teletalk Bangladesh managing director Md Shahab Uddin signed the deal at the head office of the operator in Dhaka, according to a press release.

Muhammad Farid Khan, chairman of Summit Communications, a key shareholder of STL, and high officials from both companies were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the programme, Md Shahab Uddin said the state-owned mobile network operator has taken a mega plan to set up 2,500 base stations to expand the 5G services across the country.

As the first telecom operator, Teletalk has launched the fifth generation (5G) network service in Bangladesh. The operator has been expanding its network continues to meet the demand of a growing customer base, he said.
